Is Tradify worth it for a sole trader? —
an honest look from a competitor who rates it.
Tradify is a good product. It is mature, well supported and genuinely liked by the teams that use it. The question this page answers is narrower: if you are one person with a van, is £34 to £44 a month, per user, the right money? We make a competing app, so we have tried to earn your trust by being specific rather than neutral.

Full disclosure: Quick Lead is our product, so read this with that in mind — this is our website, not a neutral directory. What we promise instead of neutrality: every price and feature claim about another product was checked against that vendor’s own website in September 2026, sources are linked, and we say plainly when a rival is the better pick. What Tradify costs one person
From tradifyhq.com/uk/pricing, September 2026, monthly billing, ex-VAT.
| Plan | Per user / month | Compliance certificates | One person, per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | £34 | ✗ | £408 |
| Pro | £37 | ✓ | £444 |
| Plus | £44 | ✓ | £528 |
| Custom | On request | ✓ | — |
For a sole trader who issues certificates, the realistic number is Pro: £444 a year before VAT, or roughly £888 the year you add a second login. Annual billing has historically taken a chunk off that; check the live page. Against that, our Pro plan is £120 a year flat. The rest of this page is about whether the £324 difference buys you something you need.
Three situations where Tradify is worth the money
1. Your accountant wants live accounting sync and you take card payments. Tradify’s two-way Xero, Sage, QuickBooks Online and MYOB sync is on every plan, and so are Stripe card payments. If invoices reconcile themselves and customers tap to pay on the doorstep, that is real time saved every week. Quick Lead exports CSV in Xero and QuickBooks formats and has no in-app payments; we are not going to pretend that is the same.
2. You are a sole trader today but hiring within the year. Tradify’s scheduling, timesheets and user roles are built for a team. Setting the business up in team software before the team arrives can be sensible, if you can afford the seats. Quick Lead has no team features on purpose.
3. You work where there is always signal and you want the most mature option. Tradify has been around a long time, has a large user base and a proper help centre. If “the safe, established choice” is what lets you sleep, that is a legitimate reason and the price is the price of it.
Three situations where it is not
1. You lose signal at work. Basements, plant rooms, new-builds before the network is in, rural jobs. Tradify’s own help centre says the app depends on a live internet connection. An app you cannot open when you are standing in front of the boiler is not a tool, it is a promise to do the paperwork later, and you know how that goes.
2. The certificates are the reason you are buying software. On Tradify they cost £37 per user. If your admin problem is mostly “CP12s and EICRs on the phone, emailed to the landlord, remembered next year”, then £444 a year is buying a whole job-management platform to get at one feature. Our CP12 software guide and EICR software guide compare the certificate-first options.
3. Your leads arrive by email and go cold in your inbox. Tradify manages jobs well once they exist. Quick Lead was built around the step before that: a dedicated address that lead platforms and customers email, with the AI turning each email into a job card you confirm in one tap from the van. If the thing that costs you money is enquiries you replied to too late, that is a different product category, and it is the one we are in.
Three questions that settle it
Will I have two or more logins within twelve months? Yes → per-user pricing is at least fair to you; shortlist Tradify. No → you are paying team rates for a one-person job.
Does my accountant need live sync, or a monthly CSV? Ask them. Most sole traders’ accountants say CSV is fine. If yours says live sync, that alone can justify Tradify.
When did I last lose signal on a job? This week → Tradify is off the list, whatever else it does. Cannot remember → offline is not your problem.
